This intricately carved and highly polished fisherman is carved from extremely dense and heavy mahogany, which allows for highly refined subtlety in the carving, yet it also allows the wood to sustain a high polish. It was carved in Malawi, and it projects a life of hard work, yet also gentle satisfaction, as the fisherman smokes his pipe on his way home with the day's catch.
